Assisted Living
For those who need a slight or even a significant hand with the Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), Riverglen House has demonstrated expertise in the compassionate and cheerful care of those residents. A committed staff of Nursing Assistants, led by a full-time Registered Nurse, monitor vigilantly the well-being of each individual and, as needed, assure the timely delivery of medications, personal hygiene, nutrition and numerous other services. All residents are offered three delicious meals per day, taking special dietary needs into account where necessary. Riverglen House is not a "nursing home", but has capabilities including Respite Stays for those who may need some extra time recovering from an illness, injury or surgery.
All assisted living residents enjoy....
- 24-hour onsite staff to assist with scheduled and unscheduled needs
- Wellness Assessment completed semi-annually or when a change in your condition has occurred
- Care management provided to assure the delivery of your needed and desired services
- Weekly personal laundry
- Three tiers of assistance, which include as needed - bathing, grooming and personal hygiene; dressing; reposition and transferring; assistance with the supervision of medications; eating; toileting; walking and mobility and personal care.
Everyday activities are used to measure an individual's ability to function independently. These daily activities are called Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and they are described as:
1. Bathing, Grooming and Personal Hygiene
2. Dressing
3. Repositioning and Transferring
4. Medication Assistance/Management
5. Eating
6. Toileting
7. Walking and Mobility
8. Personal care services
These are the basic activities which enable you to take care of yourself. In the event you need help from our staff in doing any of these ADL's, in whole or in part, then the number of ADL's with which you need assistance determines which Assisted Level of Care is added to your Level 1 - Basic Independent Living monthly fee.
The actual level at which a resident enters Riverglen is determined by a "Physician Health Assessment" prepared by the resident's personal physician prior to arrival, an evaluation by Riverglen House Nursing Staff, and by your application for admission.
It has been Riverglen's history that many of our residents enjoy better health now than they did before they moved to Riverglen House. However, should a resident require more assistance than those outlined in our basic services, then call our Director of Marketing, Ted Cooper at 800-545-5812 to discuss your needs.
