Riverglen House Activities
Riverglen House offers its residents a wide variety of daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal activities, designed to entertain, stimulate the mind, body and spirit, all in an effort to promote wellness and lifelong learning.
We maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations who hold regular meetings at Riverglen that enrich residents' lives with outside speakers and presentations. Offsite visits include trips to local farms, museums, maple sugaring operations and mountaintops. There are everyday opportunities for hands-on participation in such things as reading, yoga, gardening, flower arranging, summer Farmer's Market, a variety of arts and crafts activities, plus cooking lessons and competitions.
Riverglen welcomes volunteers who provide musical performances, dancing, and games, including our own special version of "Jeopardy." Weekly visits by "our" therapy dog, Jefferson, are eagerly anticipated. The recent addition of a Wii system, connected to our large screen television, provides even more opportunities to participate physically in several virtual sports, and has rapidly drawn a large group of fans.
Daily life also includes optional participation in the Residents' Council, Welcoming Committee, Dining Room Committee, Book Club, Garden Club, Pins and Needles and numerous community outreach events. If you are motivated, there is never a dull moment between our in-house activities and all that the Littleton Community has to offer. There are also numerous available transportation resources that can connect each resident with local events and services

"I loved my home of many years and resisted any ideas of moving, now all I can say is-why didn't I do this sooner?"
-Jackie Cathcart, Resident 2004
